Task 1

Gustavo Santaolalla - Main Theme (The Last Of Us Soundtrack)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y97u-U0nvJM

The main theme of 'The Last Of Us' portrays the overall feeling that the game has of depression and sadness, it does this by using a guitar that plays minor chords and the Guitar plays at a slower pace, which in music are used for songs with depressing
, the song uses a variety of notes from all of the instrument. The Last of Us' main theme mainly uses a lower pitch with the guitar and drums, The Last of Us' main theme has a slower pace because of the emotion it is trying to portray. This song is the first song you here so it is your first impression of the game which is used to tell you that this is going to be a depressing game. The reason the main theme of The Last of Us uses a certain type of music is because it is based off of Spaghetti Westerns so the music has the general feel, this is emphasized by the fact that the main characters often ride on horse back which is a Spaghetti Western trend. The Last of Us' main theme is played to emphasize the sadness of the game and its themes of death and depression. The Last of Us' main theme has a lower volume to emphasize that the game is going to be depressing. The music was composed by Gustavo Santaolalla but he made it for 'The Last Of Us' so the developers 'Naughty Dog' and the company 'Sony' owns this song since it was custom made for them and this game and can sue people if they use this song. This game uses a completely original soundtrack that was made from scratch by Gustavo Santaolalla.

Halo 2 Soundtrack - Halo Theme (Mjolnir Mix)
The main theme of 'Halo 2' is used to give off an epic sci-fi feeling that the Halo series is known to use for most of the series that is used to pump-up the player, the song uses a variety of notes from all of the instruments. The way this song uses it's electric guitar as it's main and uses an orchestral ensemble so the song has the musical style 'symphonic rock' which is the combination of orchestral and rock but unlike normal rock, 'symphonic rock' has a bigger focus on the movement of the guitar rather than the power of the guitar, the main focus of the song is the guitar and how it moves and the orchestra moves around less then the guitar in the background, the song starts off with a quire which is only used at the beginning. The reason Halo 2's main theme has a mixture of high and low pitch, the guitar uses a both high and low pitch and the orchestra mainly uses a lower pitch. Halo 2's main theme starts off with a slower pace at the beginning with the quire and gets faster when the guitar and orchestra start. The reason that Halo 2's main theme is 'Symphonic Rock' is because of how it goes well with the sci-fi that the Halo series is know for while having a piece of music that increases the intensity of any scenario its played in. Halo 2's main theme is intended to make the player feel energetic for the adventure that your about to play and this is emphasized by the fact that this is the first song that you hear in the game. Halo 2's main theme has a higher volume to show that the overall intensity of the situation that the player goes through. Halo 2's main theme is played multiple times through out the series in high action scenes an example being at the end of the final level in Halo 3 when the area is being destroyed Halo 2' main theme plays to add to intensity of the situation. The music was written by Marin O'Donnell and his partner Micheal Salvatori but they made it for 'Halo 2' so the developers 'Bungie' and the company 'Microsoft' owns this song since it was custom made for them and this game and can sue people if they use this song. This game uses a completely original soundtrack that was made from scratch by Marin O'Donnell and his partner Micheal Salvatori

Task 2

Gustavo Santaolalla - Main Theme (The Last Of Us Soundtrack)
Due to 'The Last Of Us' being on a dual layer Blu-ray disc it doesn't need to compress the files, so it is in a lossless file, so the song can be on a wav, aiff, au, smp, or voc file because these are files uncompressed, since it is on an uncompressed file it has a higher bit depth and a higher resolution. The main theme was recorded by using Multi Instrument Digital Interface because the song records multiple instruments in a song. This game does not have any Foley in any of it soundtrack because it mainly uses instruments and no sound effects. This game, 'The Last of Us', uses a Surround Sound system for the game and its music, because it is powerful enough to run a Surround Sound System.

Halo 2 Soundtrack - Halo Theme (Mjolnir Mix)
Due to 'Halo 2' being on the original Xbox, it needs to compress the files. so it is in a lossy file, so the song can be on a mp3, ra or vox file because these files are compressed, since it is on an compressed file it has a lower bit depth and a lower resolution. The main theme was recorded by using Multi Instrument Digital Interface because the song records multiple instruments in a song. This game does not have any Foley in any of it soundtrack because it mainly uses instruments and no sound effects. This game, 'Halo 2', uses a Stereo system for the game and its music, we can tell this because it the Xbox is powerful enough to run a Stereo System but not powerful enough to run a Surround Sound System.
